A Note From the Corbett Heights Neighbors
Board of Directors
Dear Neighbor,
You live within the geographic boundaries of Corbett Heights Neighbors (CHN), which was formed in July 2004 to provide a forum for residents of the neighborhood to discuss common issues and concerns, to develop solutions, to help guide the direction of the neighborhood, and to enhance and maintain our numerous small parks and open spaces.
We partner with the San
Francisco Parks Alliance (SFPA), a non-profit organization, for purposes of financial transparency and accountability. CHN membership dues and donations are payable to SFPA and accordingly are tax deductible.
The goals of CHN are to:
Maintain our 11 small parks, none of which are maintained by the City.
Beautify, maintain, and improve the character of the neighborhood.
Protect historical architectural resources.
Endeavor to
ensure that new construction and development is compatible with the Planning Code and the neighborhood.
Increase security.
Provide community outreach and an educational forum.
Encourage friendly association among neighbors.
In particular, please note that our several small but important parks and open spaces — such as Ord Triangle at Ord/17th, Merritt Park at Market/Danvers/Merritt, Corbett Slope across from Mars at Corbett, and Al’s Park adjacent
to 369 Corbett just below Clayton — are not maintained by the City. Most people, including our neighbors, think the City maintains these but it does not. We do.
We hope you can join us as a member — it’s only $25 per household per year, tax deductible — and help us with your parks and our other activities by offering your time and energy. It’s your neighborhood: we need your interest, energy, and involvement to maintain and enhance it! By
looking at our website, you can learn who we are, what we have done, and how we operate. And, you can contact us to join or to volunteer to help.
We all have a stake in the neighborhood. We hope to see you on on Zoom on Monday, March 18th at 7:00 pm.
